Started teaching second grade in Chickasha at Southwest Elementary School in 1970 Moved to Grand Avenue Elementary in 1985 Author/public speaker 1999.
Began Writing: "After teaching second grade for twenty six years, I felt I needed a change. I came home to clean closet and do all those things around the house that I always needed to do, but never had time. Cleaning closets got old - very fast! So I ended up watching a LOT of TV. When I rushed into Bill's office one day -- all excited to tell him that someone had fallen down on one of the game shows I was watching - we BOTH decided that I really needed something to do. I came up with the idea for our first book, together, The Flying Flea, Callie, and Me from watching our cat, Gray, and his irritation with the local mockingbirds. Bill helped me outline the story, and I did the writing. Then both of us sat down and revised the story, together. That Furball Puppy and Me was our second book about Gray, and was inspired by his relationship with our Scotty, Chomps." New books that I've done, all on my own, include One Nosy Pup, Turkeys Together, The Santa Secret, and Easter Bunny Blues. These are Holiday House publications, and considered "Easy Readers" for grades one and/or two.
